From individual utility customers and construction contractors, to utilities, municipalities, and government bodies, our clients have come to depend on our customized energy efficiency programs to help them to meet their energy saving goals.
The Controller will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company.
This will include direct responsibility for the management of accounting, finance, cash, collections, payables and closing monthly financials.
This position is also responsible the oversight of the finance department personnel and for working closely with senior Finance and Accounting leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting throughout the organization.
The Controller will be charged with maintaining appropriate segregation of responsibilities as well as control over cash.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
Provides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term financial objectives Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting Ensure that there is appropriate segregation of duties/authorities with respect to accounting and management of cash in/out Lead and participate in the compilation and analysis of month-end and year-end financial reporting packages, including financial statements, supporting schedules, variance analysis and written commentary Coordinate with managers and other members of the Accounting/Finance team to analyze, understand, record and explain financial transactions Perform monthly financial analysis and written commentary on revenues, expenditures, cash flows, balances accounts payable/receivable and related variances in coordination with senior Finance leadership Manage cash including receivables, payables, inventory and capital expenditures Monitor and forecast weekly cash flows Monitor insurance coverage and advise management on best use of insurance to protect against property losses and potential liabilities Make recommendations and proactively pursue process improvements within the financial department Ensure proper accounting for purchases, inventory and cost of materials installed Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of procedures that will improve controls Interact with external auditors in completing audits Support of external accountant in preparation of annual tax returns and calculation of quarterly tax estimates Work with internal customers to support the reporting needs of the business.
Responsibility for invoicing controls, error tracking and resolution process Lead the SOC Compliance process for the organization Manage and ensure oversight of organization expense Position RequirementsEducation and Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university Advanced degree (Business or Accounting) - Preferred Previous management experience required with 5-10 years of experience preparing and analyzing GAAP financial statements Experience using and/or implementing Dynamics SL or similar system Experience with SOC process Experience in a service firm/project management business model - Strongly Preferred Experience with multiple, small branch operations - Strongly Preferred CPA Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Strong customer service and communication skills Must be able to handle a wide work variety and work in a fast-paced environment Must be a detail-oriented, organized, self-starter, and have an ability to prioritize workload Ability to identify and resolve project application issues with customers and trade allies Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook Strong data entry skills in entering information in tracking systems/databases Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with customers, clients and employees Ability to analyze and interpret data Reliable transportation Licenses & CertificationsValid driver's licenseTravel RequirementsWillingness to travel up to 10%Physical Demands and Work Environment Required to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls Ability to lift up to 10 pounds Noise Level is typically moderate Employee could be exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles and risk of potential shock Note:

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
