Port Washington is seeking a dynamic and proven municipal leader to tackle opportunities head-on during a transformative phase of the community.

Originally founded as a village in 1848, and later incorporated as a city in 1882, Port Washington is a historic fishing community located along the shores of Lake Michigan, 30 minutes north of downtown Milwaukee.
The original harbor was built in the 1870s, and its original lighthouse, built in 1860, still stands today, hosting a historical museum.
Port Washington is the county seat of Ozaukee County and part of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Statistical Area.
The City is known for offering a touch of New England charm combined with Midwestern friendliness and has been named by Midwest Living to their Top 100 Best Midwest Small Town Getaways.
Port Washington, today, is a tourist destination with a vibrant historic downtown and community events.
The City offers superior housing choices, a highly rated school district, abundant tourism and community events offerings, and award-winning health care throughout the region.
The City Council, comprised of a part-time Mayor and seven Alderpersons, is responsible for providing the general policy direction of the City.
The City's day-to-day operations are under the general direction of the City Administrator.
There have been two City Administrators in the last 35 years and a historically stable City Council.
Port Washington is a full-service community, including Police, Fire, EMS, Public Works including Engineering, Streets, Water and Sewer Utilities, and Marina, Community Development, Forestry, Recreation, Library, and Administration with experienced professionals leading the departments.
The Administrator's management team also includes the Assistant City Administrator/HR Director, Finance Director, and City Clerk.
The City has 89 FTEs plus robust part-time and seasonal staff.
The total budget including utilities is over $25 million.
The unallocated fund balance in the general fund is 20% of the adopted budget.
Several opportunities await the City Administrator, including leading the implementation of the City's strategic plan, an aggressive planned public facility improvement program, continued citywide commercial and lake front development guided by a recently adopted Downtown and Lakefront Plan, long-term viable financial planning for infrastructure and public facilities, as well as enhancing efforts to attract younger families to the City, and forging new partnerships with neighboring communities and Ozaukee County.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in public administration, Business Administration, Political Science, or a related field is required and a Master's Degree in Public or Business Administration is preferred:
ICMA Credentialed Manager (CM) designation is a plus.
All candidates must have a minimum of five plus years of experience in an upper-level leadership position with municipal experience heavily preferred.
The ideal candidate will be a person of high integrity with a proven record of fiscally conservative budgeting and financial management, a demonstrated ability to manage diverse teams, the ability to communicate with empathy while being straight-forward, and will bring an innovative, outside-the-box approach to community and economic development while maintaining a city's character.
Port Washington's next City Administrator will be able to collaboratively balance multiple stakeholders and high priority tasks, know when to delegate, and hold themselves and their teams accountable.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
