Position 1st Shift - Prototype Technician Location Port Washington, WI (Mineral Springs Dr.
) Shift First Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt Description SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Prototype Technician is responsible for assisting in the design of tooling, fixtures and any gages that will be used in support of the fabrication and assembly of prototypes.
They will assume responsibility for the building of tools that will be used in the production of prototype parts.
They will be responsible for setting up and running the tooling and equipment used in the fabrication and assembly of prototypes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:

Participation in internal and customer product and print design reviews Review of dimensions and tolerance schemes as they relate to a design.
Review tooling, welding fixture and assemble designs used in the production of metal parts.
Build; setup and the development of tooling used to produce metal formed parts.
Adhere to and manage the production timelines Collaborate with tool building team to build tools, fixtures and gauges Other duties as assigned or required Position Requirements
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
Experience in tool and die and/or 2 years experience as a machinist.
Prior experience in manufacturing / fabrication preferred Setup of brake press Spot welding MIG welding Experience in the programming of Laser cutting equipment preferred Experienced in the use of measure tools, optical comparator, calipers, etc.
SolidWorks or a 3-D CAD system preferred MS Office proficiency Minimum 2 years of experience in the use of equipment used to produce tooling preferred Wire EDM Milling machines Surface grinders PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; frequently required to sit and talk or hear; occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
